Now you know how it feels

How do you feel today?
Originally uploaded by sapaho
A while back a wife posted of how she felt neglected by the time her husband spent on the computer and most particular on the social networking sites. Time passes and the shoe is on the other foot. Now the husband is feeling neglected by her computer use. Her response: now you know how it feels.

Now were going to play a little game. It is called "what happens next". There are two possible responses for the husband to make.
Option 1:
Realizing how his wife feels, the husbands commits himself to not neglecting his wife and to make it up to her.
Option 2:
Realizing that his wife his wife is a hypocrite for doing the exact thing that makes her feel neglected, the husband now feels both neglected and betrayed. Although he doesn't think about it, he will at some future time "let her know how it feels" as well.
If you choose option 1, then I hope you enjoy your romance novel life. Option 2 is normal response. It is just another for of the "eye for an eye" that Jesus talked about in Matthew 5:38. It is about revenge, selfishness and spite.

Jesus taught a better way. In Matthew 5:44 He said do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Rather than seeking to let the other know how it feels, seek to let them know how feel and to find a way together.
