Sweet Idea: Send Your Name to Mars

Mars Science Laboratory: Send Your Name to Mars: "This is your chance to go to Mars!
Fill in your information and your name will be included with others on a microchip on the Mars Science Laboratory rover heading to Mars in 2011!"

I put both of us together. Nothing cheaper or more romantic than send your love to a different planet. There even let you print a certificate. What could be better?

Marriage and Divorce

In todays world, marriage is in peril and divorce is commonplace. Elder Dallin H. Oaks teaches us how we can heal from the pain of a difficult or broken marriage. It is through humility and the Atonement that we can recover and rebuild after experiencing these extremely difficult circumstances in our lives.

The message is direct and does not pull punches.

Letterboxing

Similar to geocaching is a pastime called letter boxing: Letterboxing North America - Getting Started:
"Letterboxing is an intriguing “treasure hunt” style outdoor activity. Letterboxers hide small, weatherproof boxes in publicly-accessible places (like parks) and post clues to finding the box online on one of several Web sites. However, clues to finding some of the most highly-sought boxes are passed around by word of mouth. There are about 20,000 letterboxes hidden in North America alone. Individual letterboxes usually contain a log book, an often hand-carved rubber stamp and may contain an ink pad. Finders make an imprint of the letterbox's stamp on their personal log book, and leave an imprint of their personal stamp on the letterbox's logbook ."

You don't need a GPS, just the ability to follow clues. Also, you create your own unique rubber stamp that allows you to sign the log books. I know my kids will love doing this.

The Sound of Romance

I subscribe to All-Pro Dad and an article on the Sound of Romance came the other day and it is worth sharing:

"How's this for romancing your wife... do you have a song that you specifically remember her by? It could be a song that was playing when you first saw her or the song you two first danced to. There's no doubt that music plays a special role in all of our lives and this is especially true in our marriages. So why not purchase the song online, download it and play it for her tonight... perhaps even invite her for a dance. What a wonderful way to let her know how special she is to you."

Music has such a powerful way of touching the soul that simple words can't. It speaks to the emotions rather than to the reason.
